The winters in New York City are brutal. This was photographed a few blocks away from where I used to live. My Hasselblad completely froze shortly after taking this picture!

The man in the tophat is Michael Porten, an extraordinarily talented painter. We’ve been friends since the fourth grade, and this is the only photograph I have of him. One day, when the opportunity presents itself, I will remedy that!

Amanda posing near Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia.
This was taken on a foggy night, lit only by streetlights. The exposure was around 8 seconds long. I used D76 1:1 developer (my favorite!), and the negative was scanned with an Imacon drum scanner.
